FOX Nation will debut Final Journey: 80th Anniversary of D-Day with Martha MacCallum at 5:00am EST on Thursday, June 27th. Filmed in Normandy, it includes interviews with veterans on their recollections of World War II and the significance of the invasion eight decades later.
Commenting on the special, MacCallum said, “Speaking with these American war heroes 80 years after the D-Day invasions was unforgettable. For many, this will be their last trip to Normandy, and it is an incredible honor to share their stories of fortitude, resilience, sacrifice and courage which came to define the greatest generation.”
The special takes viewers to significant locations including Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, Pointe du Hoc and Batterie d’Azeville to retell the story of the historic D-Day invasions through the eyes of those who who served our country and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, leading America to victory over the Axis powers 80 years ago. Featuring interviews with Steve Melnikoff, a veteran in the 175th Infantry Regiment which landed on the beaches of Normandy a day after the invasion, Bud Gahs, a veteran who helped liberate the Dachau Concentration Camps and Rondo Scharfe, an Iwo Jima veteran, the special provides overview of the war and its impact around the world. Notably, MacCallum recently anchored her FOX News Channel program The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET) live from the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in commemoration of the 80th anniversary earlier this month.

In November 2022, MacCallum co-anchored FNC’s midterm election coverage and co-hosted a one-hour debate between Ohio Senate candidates JD Vance and Tim Ryan. In 2020, MacCallum co-anchored FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage with Baier as well, which garnered the highest ratings for an election night in cable news history with 14.1 million total viewers.
During the 2020 election season, MacCallum and Baier also provided coverage of the presidential debates and their coverage of the first presidential debate was the most-watched in cable news history with nearly 18 million viewers.
