Army & Air Force Exchange Service to Host On-the-Spot Interviews July 25 for National Hire a Veteran Day

The Army & Air Force Exchange Service, the Department of Defense’s largest retailer, will celebrate National Hire a Veteran Day on July 25 with on-the-spot job interviews at headquarters and more than 70 Main Stores, Expresses, distribution centers, Class Six and Troop Stores worldwide.

“Veterans bring valuable professional experience to the Exchange and embody our core value of family serving family,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Rich Martinez, Exchange senior enlisted advisor. “The Exchange is privileged to offer Veterans meaningful careers and opportunities for growth.”

Specific information about the on-the-spot July 25 hiring events can be found on the Exchange’s local Facebook or Instagram pages. Detailed information regarding current Exchange career opportunities are available at ApplyMyExchange.com.

While the Exchange gives hiring preference to Veterans and military spouses, all interested candidates are welcome to participate in the on-the-spot interviews. Exchange careers offer competitive pay and a strong benefits package, including paid vacation and sick leave, medical/dental, flexible work schedules, 401K and a pension plan. When Veterans join the Exchange as full-time associates, their military service time can be used toward their Exchange retirement benefit.

The Exchange offers hourly and full-time positions at more than 5,000 stores across the U.S. and more than 30 countries. Veterans can start rewarding careers serving those who serve at worldwide Exchange main stores, convenience and specialty stores, restaurants, Military Clothing stores, warehouses, distribution centers and Exchange headquarters.

The Exchange consistently garners industry recognition for its commitment to hiring Veterans and military spouses and has hired more than 60,000 Veterans and military spouses since 2013.

“National Hire a Veteran Day serves as a reminder that hiring Veterans isn’t just a patriotic gesture, but a smart business decision that enhances workplace diversity and productivity,” said Wesley Abington, vice president, HR Operations.
