Eric, a 62-year-old U.S. Navy Veteran, recently won a $2,500 gaming PC after learning about the giveaway in VA’s #VetResources newsletter. The PC giveaway was provided by Regiment, a Veteran-based online community that fosters camaraderie and welfare through gaming.
Eric’s journey into the gaming space was a stroke of luck. He had just started playing games with his son on Nintendo Switch and wished he had a gaming computer so he could play and spend more time with him.
The giveaway opened a whole new realm of possibilities for him, and now Eric is connecting with other Veterans who also belong to the Regiment Veteran gaming network. Regiment ‘s CEO Chris Earl personally delivered the gaming PC to Eric’s doorstep in Texas and helped him set it up.
Regiment filmed the PC delivery, which shows Eric’s genuine surprise and gratitude. Eric is one of many Veterans who are discovering gaming as a way to connect with others who understand what they’ve been through.
All Veterans can find community by joining Regiment. Play some games or swap some stories, there’s always someone to talk to in Regiment’s Discord channels. Watch this video produced by Regiment to learn more about Eric and Regiment.
